Terms and policies→
All agreements and policies are published on the legal documents page, including Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Seller and Fundraiser Agreements, Refund and Dispute policies, AML/CFT and Charity Verification policies. That page also names the company that operates the platform (Web Studio Ltd, with its Companies Office record), and there's more about who we are on the About page.

Who's behind Generous.nz→
Generous.nz is built and run by the team at Web Studio Ltd β€” a Christchurch company that has been trading since 2002. We're a small New Zealand team, and we use the platform ourselves: Generous.nz started because two of our own teenagers needed to fundraise and wanted to sell things rather than just ask (the full story is on the About page).

If you need our company details β€” for a grant application, a receipt, your accounts, or your own checks β€” here they are:

  • Registered name: Web Studio Ltd
  • Based in: Ōtautahi Christchurch, New Zealand
  • Registered: 15 August 2002
  • Company number: 1232732
  • NZBN: 9429036370351
  • Companies Office record: view the registration

A note on money, since it matters when you're handing over donations: the company runs the platform, but it never holds your funds. Payments are processed by Stripe and paid straight to the fundraiser's or business's own verified bank account, and the platform only ever invoices its own fee.
