Changelog
All notable changes to Generous.nz are recorded here, grouped by version. Every deployed build has a version number, a git tag, and an entry below.
Versioning scheme
Versions follow MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH:
- 0.x — pre-launch. Minor bumps mark a completed build phase or major feature set; patches are bug fixes on the current build.
- 1.0.0 — first public launch.
- 1.x+ — post-launch: minor = new features, patch = fixes, major = breaking changes or significant re-architecture.
Each version is tagged in git (v0.2.0) and the current version is kept in
package.json. See docs/version-control.md for how to cut a release.
[0.9.346] — 2026-09-11
Added
- Help centre articles for holiday mode (how to pause an account, what stops while it's paused, how to reopen early — including the note that monthly supporter subscriptions keep running) and closing an account (what gets deleted, what's kept for GST and consumer law, and why a deletion can be held back for unpaid invoices, payouts in flight, unfulfilled orders or activity in the last 30 days).
[0.9.345] — 2026-09-11
Fixed
- Cleaner message when a paused campaign blocks a donation or order: it now reads
This fundraiser is taking a break until 6 October 2026, so donations are paused for nowinstead of repeating the sentence.

Added
- Holiday mode. Account → Holiday mode lets someone pause their account
between two dates: fundraiser pages stop taking donations and orders, the
shop, tickets and raffle sections are hidden, and the page shows "taking a
break until
" to supporters. Nothing is deleted, the owner sees a banner in their dashboard, and they can reopen early at any time. - Delete my account (Account → Delete my account). They type DELETE to confirm. If nothing is outstanding the account is removed: pages archived, listings hidden, personal details anonymised, logins and passkeys cleared. Financial records are kept, as GST and consumer law require. If money is still moving — unpaid invoices, payouts or wholesale settlements in flight, unfulfilled orders, or sales, purchases and donations in the last 30 days — deletion is held back, the account goes into holiday mode instead, and they are told exactly what is outstanding and the date they can delete it.
- Admin → Users shows Holiday mode and Deleted badges so support can see the state of an account at a glance.
[0.9.343] — 2026-09-11
Added
- Admin → Users now shows what kind of account each person has: a Fundraiser badge when they run campaigns, a Business badge for a wholesale account (with the application state — applied / declined / suspended — and the business name), both where someone does both, and Supporter for buyers and donors. A matching account type filter was added to the search form, so you can list just fundraisers, just businesses (any status, approved only, or applications waiting), or just supporters.
[0.9.342] — 2026-09-11
Changed
- "Shop to support" now runs full width on fundraiser pages, below the story and the donate panel, instead of being squeezed into the reading column. Cards lay out 2 across on a phone, 3 on a tablet and 4 on a wide screen, with a heading that says how many items are listed, a line explaining that purchases help the cause (and the supplying businesses where relevant), and the pagination moved inside the section.
[0.9.341] — 2026-09-11
Changed
- The promotional banner is now only shown to signed-out visitors. Once someone is signed in it disappears (the dashboard's own announcements are unaffected), and the dashboard announcement strip sits back under the header.
[0.9.340] — 2026-09-11
Fixed
- Banner text could be clipped instead of scrolling. On devices that ask for reduced motion the animation was switched off but the line stayed clipped, so the message was cut off mid-sentence with no way to read it. The fallback now wraps the message onto as many lines as it needs, so the whole thing is always readable, and the scrolling version runs a little faster (26s) so it doesn't feel static.
[0.9.339] — 2026-09-11
Changed
- The promotional banner now offers a sign-up link for each audience instead of sending everyone to the fundraiser form: Start a fundraiser (goes to /register) and List your business (goes to the business sign-up form). The scrolling message stays as the explanation, and on narrow screens the two links sit side by side beneath it.
